Johnson Brothers, a renowned British tableware manufacturer and exporter, gained recognition for pioneering the use of "semi-porcelain." They stood out as one of Staffordshire's most successful pottery producers, specializing in crafting tableware for the American market from the 1890s to the 1960s. Many of their designs achieved widespread popularity and continue to be sought after by collectors today, including beloved patterns such as "Dawn," "Old Britain Castles," and "Eternal Beau." The company derived its name from the founding quartet: Alfred, Frederick, Henry, and Robert Johnson. Interestingly, their father married the daughter of the esteemed master potter Alfred Meakin. Johnson Brothers operated as part of the Wedgwood group from 1968 to 2015, until it was acquired by Fishers, who later discontinued Johnson Bros. products.
